First Day of School!

You could feel the anticipation and excitement of the first day of school at West Hoke Elementary School from staff, students and of course me as the new principal.  As the students entered the building the smiles on their faces was amazing and inspirational. It is  "A Whole New World-Watch Us Grow!"  To add to the excitement we were fortunate to have soldiers from Fort Bragg to come and join us on the first day of school to welcome our wonderful students back to school.  They were there to greet students as they got off the bus, out of their cars, and even help some of our 5th grade students put up the American and North Carolina Flags. We would to thank you for all that you do! What an amazing first day!

Convocation- Hoke County Schools

"Creaming for Common Core"
I can feel the excitement in the air, on my hands, and on the floor as my colleague helps me get myself together from eating melting ice cream on the way back to school from Convocation.  Was it the excitement from the celebration of different schools, or the great common core information shared with us by presenters?  Who knows?  Whatever it is I am thankful for the assistance and the wonderful staff that I am getting ready to embark upon a new journey with.  Without the ice cream this time...
